Faith Church's 20th Apple Festival

Fairs / Fests / Parades Apple Festival: 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, Faith United Presbyterian Church,  218 W. Pennsylvania Ave. Pen Argyl. This long running fall event has been pleasing Slate Belt lovers of homemade apple pies and those famous apple dumplings for over twenty years now. So to celebrate this year’s festival the menu will include those old time favorites like turkey and beef barbecue, along with their popular macaroni and cheese dish. This year the Festival Committee expanded the line-up to include the addition of pulled pork sandwiches being added to the menu. Apple dumpling fans call her the “Queen of the Dough” but we know her as Gail Long who will once again return to oversee the making of these famous treats. So in honor of the Festival’s 20th year Gail Long will have a new apple and raisin dumpling available. These home-made apple pies and dumplings go fast and still will be available for take out on a first come, first served basis. So get there early for the best selection. Rev. ZOMpocalypse

Halloween/autumn events ZOMpocalypse is neither a run, nor is it one of those intense obstacle course events. This is a survival game, in which you will be maneuvering through a trail lined with the undead. Some of them will be slow, but most will be fast zombies. And some will be on roller skates! That's right....the Two Rivers Roller Derby zombies who were part of Easton's Haunted Tour last year are crawling out of the river again this year, and they are hungry for vengeance. Humans are given a flag football belt with life flags hanging from them, and must try to make it through the trail with as many of them left as possible. Additional life flags are available for purchase during registration, and health stations will be set up along the route for you to restock (these are free). But fair warning....zombies tend to gather where groups of humans are, so will it be worth the risk of approaching a health station? That's part of the survival challenge! Register as a human or a zombie. Afterparty at Drinky’s of Easton. Region: Lehigh Valley. Cost: $20 in advance / $25 day of event. Reservations: . Registration: http://eastonzompocalypse.wix.com/zompocalypse. Email: easton.zompocalypse@gmail.com. Artist/event website: https://www.facebook.com/EastonZOMpocalypse. Saturday, October 4, 2014, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Riverside Park, Easton, PA. For more info visit www.youtube.com.
