		<content type="html">Culver-Stockton College will feature the work of Michael Barnes, associate professor of art at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Ill.,  during the first art exhibition of the 2010-11 school year in the Mabee Art Gallery located on the C-SC campus. The printmaking exhibit will be displayed in the gallery from Thursday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Sept. 24. 		<content type="html">The annual QND Band Candy Sale will be conducted August 20th - September 7, 2010. QND band members will be selling the Worlds Finest Chocolate candy bars and boxes of mini mints at area churches, businesses as well as door to door. Caramel, Krunch, Almond and Milk Chocolate bars are available with boxes of mini-mints. Profits from the sale support the QND band program with proceeds going toward the maintenance and replacement of instruments and equipment and the purchase of sheet music. 		<content type="html">Culver-Stockton College will feature the work of Michael Barnes, associate professor of art at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Ill.,  during the first art exhibition of the 2010-11 school year in the Mabee Art Gallery located on the C-SC campus. The printmaking exhibit will be displayed in the gallery from Thursday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Sept. 24. 		<title type="text">Quincy Public Library Big Read Kick-off at the Women's City Club</title>
		<content type="html">The Quincy Public Library will host the BIG READ kick-off Gatsby style at the Women's City Club, a local Italianate mansion at 1550 Maine Street. The mansion sits atop a sprawling acre of land and possesses architectural details reminiscent of the famed Gatsby mansion. The kick-off will be held outside with a display of period automobiles lining the curved driveway. Hors d'oeuvres will be served while Jazz music plays in the background. 		<title type="text">Community Bible Study</title>
		<content type="html">Community Bible Study (CBS) is enrolling for their Bible study on the book of Genesis. They will kick off the new class year with an informational meeting 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Fifth St. Baptist Church, 5th and Broadway, in Hannibal. Adults of all ages and faiths are invited to learn more about CBS by attending this meeting. &lt;br&gt;CBS is an interdenominational, non-profit organization whose mission is to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ through caring, in-depth Bible study available to all. The Hannibal area condensed class is one of more than 500 adult classes throughout the United States and overseas.&lt;br&gt;In its 7th year, the local class presently has women and men from various denominations and churches in Hannibal and surrounding communities in Missouri. Illinois residents are welcome also. The class meets on Thursday evenings from September 9 to May 5 with breaks during some holidays. Adults may join any time throughout the class year.&lt;br&gt;The host church is Fifth Street Baptist Church. The printmaking exhibit will be displayed in the gallery from Thursday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Sept. 24. 		<title type="text">Drive One 4 UR School with Carson Motors and Illini West High School</title>
		<content type="html">Ford Motor Company and Carson Ford are partnering to help raise up to $6,000 in support of Illini West High School as part of the Drive One 4 UR School program. Members of the local Carthage community will have the opportunity to raise money for Illini West by test driving a Ford vehicle. The one-day event takes place on Friday, September 10th at the north side of historic Carthage Square during the homecoming parade festivities. Ford Motor Company and Carson Ford will donate $20 to Illini West for every person from a unique household who test drives a 2011 Taurus, Mustang, Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Escape, Edge, Flex, or F-Series. 		<title type="text">20th Annual Loafers Reunion Cruise-In September 11th</title>
		<content type="html">The Hannibal Huck Finn Shipping Center will be nearly filled with historic and special interest vehicles Saturday evening September 11th.  Each year for the past 19 years the Loafers Car Club has hosted the Reunion Cruise-in that draws a large variety of vehicles from a 100-mile radius for a night of free fun.  There is no entry fee, no judging but compliments of local businesses there will be free door prizes as well as cash prizes for longest distance, club participation, and muffler rap.   Many spectators also attend to view the wide variety of vehicles, talk to owners and enjoy DJ 50&amp;#8217;s and 60&amp;#8217;s music.</content>

		<content type="html">The Mark Twain Boyhood Home &amp;amp; Museum is pleased to announce Dinner Under the Stars, to be held on Saturday, September 11 in the Boyhood Home Garden. Gates open at 6 p.m. with serving beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will benefit the Museum&amp;#8217;s &amp;#8220;Music Under the Stars&amp;#8221; concert series held each Thursday evening between Memorial Day and Labor Day.&lt;br&gt;Music-Music-Music will provide the musical backdrop. The band features Glenn Cornelius on vocals and lead guitar; Bill Cornelius on bass guitar and vocal; Tommy Williams on saxophone; and Ronn Pashia, bandleader, on drums and vocals.&lt;br&gt;The cost of the evening is $50 per person or $90 per couple. 		<content type="html">The Blessing Cancer Center is the first in the Tri-State region to offer a unique cancer support group called BE STRONG-LIVELONG, totally inspired by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The BE STRONG-LIVELONG Cancer Support Group will provide the following:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;#8226;An ongoing support group for anyone having received a diagnosis of cancer &lt;br&gt;&amp;#8226;An interactive and supportive process&lt;br&gt;&amp;#8226;The opportunity for newly diagnosed cancer patients as well as survivors to discuss their personal experiences. &lt;br&gt;&amp;#8226;Many studies have found that support groups can boost quality of life, calm anxiety, and help patients become more active and in control of their care.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Cancer Center Complimentary Services Room at the Blessing Cancer Center. Profits from the sale support the QND band program with proceeds going toward the maintenance and replacement of instruments and equipment and the purchase of sheet music. 		<content type="html">Culver-Stockton College will feature the work of Michael Barnes, associate professor of art at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Ill.,  during the first art exhibition of the 2010-11 school year in the Mabee Art Gallery located on the C-SC campus. The printmaking exhibit will be displayed in the gallery from Thursday, Aug. 26 through Friday, Sept. 24. 		<title type="text">Community Bible Study</title>
		<content type="html">Community Bible Study (CBS) is enrolling for their Bible study on the book of Genesis. They will kick off the new class year with an informational meeting 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Fifth St. Baptist Church, 5th and Broadway, in Hannibal. Adults of all ages and faiths are invited to learn more about CBS by attending this meeting. &lt;br&gt;CBS is an interdenominational, non-profit organization whose mission is to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ through caring, in-depth Bible study available to all. The Hannibal area condensed class is one of more than 500 adult classes throughout the United States and overseas.&lt;br&gt;In its 7th year, the local class presently has women and men from various denominations and churches in Hannibal and surrounding communities in Missouri. Illinois residents are welcome also. The class meets on Thursday evenings from September 9 to May 5 with breaks during some holidays. Adults may join any time throughout the class year.&lt;br&gt;The host church is Fifth Street Baptist Church.
