Phones are then donated to the Boise Police Department!
In July of 2006 a partnership was established with Project KOPEG (Keep Our Planet Earth Green) and the Idaho Crime Prevention Association (ICPA). Project KOPEG recycles (keeping them out of our landfills) or refurbishes out-of-service cell phones as a fundraiser for non-profit groups. ICPA is a non-profit organization whose members are law enforcement agencies and other business individuals that are involved in the area of crime prevention. ICPA has been collecting these cell phones from people all over the Treasure Valley since 2001. The cell phones then, are either given to at-risk individuals that do not have a cell phone and want 911 cellular access or they are donated to Project KOPEG for re-cycling. Since this partnership was established, ICPA has raised over $3500. This has enabled ICPA to fund statewide training in the areas of cyber crime, internet safety and Neighborhood Watch, to name a few. Project KOPEG and ICPA continue to work together in an effort to keep our planet green and to keep our citizens safe.

Every Thursday night we meet for a 3, 4, and 5 mile Run/Walk.
All abilities are welcome! We meet regardless of rain, snow, sleet or hail. It takes place year round and is a great way to meet new running or walking buddies.

Idaho State championship short track XC starts out at 12pm Saturday with a 2K trail circuit. Beginners will do twenty minutes, sports thirty, and Pro/experts do forty min. The Mad Hatter relay is a uniquely styled relay race. Each team consists of two people, each team member runs 2 two mile legs for a total of four per participant, or eight per team. Costumes are not required, but are encouraged, hats are required and judged. Many categories to chose from, and parents are encouraged to enter their child in the Kids in the Rabbit Hole run (Short cut that makes it about a mile). No need to get a sitter for this one since you can only have one team member on the course at once.

Get your running shoes ready! Salmon Idaho is once again hosting a September Marathon . The 2010 Marathon will be September 18th, 2010. The race this year is being sponsored by the Salmon Valley Chamber of Commerce with the help of the City of Salmon, Steele Memorial Medical Center, Shu's Idaho Running Company, Hammer Nutrition and the community as a whole and. The race is a scenic point-to-point course that starts in Tendoy, Idaho.Registration will also be open to 50 half marathoners too. Tendoy, for you history buffs, is the birthplace of Sacajawea, the Agaidika Shoshone woman, who with her infant child accompanied Lewis and Clark on their historic journey to the Pacific and back. The course follows the Old Lemhi Road as it winds along the Lemhi River west onto Main Street and into Salmon. After crossing the Salmon River at the end of Main Street , runners will turn left into Island Park and the finish line.The timing has been changed from computer timing to chip timing to record times more accurately and post them in a very timely fashion. This year registration will be through blue circle sports, which you can link to from the marathon’s website at www.salmonmarathon.com.

Purpose and Mission
The purpose of the Arock Education Foundation is exclusively for educational purposes, to raise funds and distribute funds to the Arock School District and to support policies and practices which maintain and enhance programs.

The organization was created as a supporting organization to the Arock School District, located in Malheur County, on the southeastern border of the State of Oregon. The Arock School District budget is limited, and further cutbacks are under consideration by the Oregon Legislature. The organization intends to devote its time and fundraising activities to raise cash, materials, and labor to build a new gymnasium for the School District to replace the current small facilities built in the 1920’s. The new building will serve as a center for community use, facility for school functions and education, and a much needed ivenue for sporting activities.
The IRS has determined that Arock Education Foundation Inc. is exempt from federal income tax as described under section 501 (c) (3). Donors may deduct contributions to the foundation for gift tax purposes. Any and all donations will receive a receipt for donations received.
Arock Education Foundation’s board of directors thanks you. The Arock Community thanks you. Our children thank you.

In this body of work, graduate art student Matt Bodett explores what may seem to be the darker aspects of schizophrenia. Depression, paranoia, anxiety, and the consistent urge to wrestle with oneself all make appearances in the work.
