A Very Royal Problem

What happens when you mix a castle full of characters, a king with a headache, and the many problems of a mystical kingdom? You have a Very Royal Problem on your hands and it’s all up to Princess Ermagarde to solve.

What can she do about Little Goat who is afraid of the Troll under the
bridge? Why do the townspeople try to chop down Wilbur the Giant's beanstalk when he comes for a visit? Why are all the children trying to catch the Tooth Fairy to shake her upside down so they can fly? And what can you do with a Prince who wants to chop everyone's head off--especially the new dragon in town--after all, isn't that what they are supposed to do?!

And what does all this have to do with the (only) 4 books the kingdom owns: Billy Goats Gruff, Jack & The Beanstalk, Peter Pan, and Saint George and the Dragon?

At TAG (Teen Advisory Group) meetings we'll talk about the books, movies, and music we like, get creative with craft and DIY projects, and have fun playing games or watching movies. KCPL's Imagination Library is officially 4 years old, and the Library is celebrating! You're invited to put on your favorite dress up clothes or costume and head down to Lawson McGhee Library to discover all that KCPL has to offer for early readers. Check out our great selection of kid's CDs and DVDs, the amazing Children's Room (complete with child-sized computer stations and a storywell), and the best selection of free books and activities in town. Three special storytimes and musical performances will also be available, but you'll need to pick up your free ticket by January 15 to guarantee admission. There'll even be cake! "G Wing" is a cops and robber comedy set in the psychiatric wing of a general hospital. It comes complete with true love, betrayal, mistaken identity and kidnapping. Just a usual night in the psych ward perhaps, but is anybody who they really say they are?

"Carry Me Back To West Virginia" is a comedy set in a small town on the West Virginia/Kentucky border during the height of the Cold War. When the connecting bridge collapses the town is cut off and isolated. With no help forthcoming from Washington a few enterprising townsfolk look for help in a strange place--the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
