Deep, conscious lengthening of the muscles will help relieve tension while the restorative poses will aid the body in the recovery process necessary after intense exercise.  Specific breath practices (pranayama) and continued awareness and exploration of this 'prana' will lead to a deeper awareness within each pose.  Other facets beyond the physical (mental clarity, focus, imagery and meditation) will also be explored and integrated into the practice.  This class is a great complement to an athletes in-season program, as a cross training tool in the off-season or as part of the recovery process helping the body heal from an injury.
